Frequently asked questions

What size should a blog article image be?

For a content image, 1400 px wide is enough (2× Retina inside a ~700 px container). For a hero banner, 1920 px. Our article on resizing images for the web has the full rules of thumb.

Which format should the resizer save?

WebP or AVIF for websites, JPG for compatibility, PNG for logos. Format is a separate setting in the converter and can be changed at any time.

Does resizing lose quality?

Downscaling is negligible; upscaling always softens the image. That's why you should work at 2× the target size and never upscale the original by more than 1.5×.

Can I resize multiple images at once?

Yes — drop in several images, each is processed with the same settings, then download them all in a single ZIP.
